What You Should Decide First#

Decision Why It Matters
Android or Linux Determines BSP choice, UI stack, update method, driver risk, and long-term maintenance.
Display and touch MIPI DSI, LVDS, HDMI, eDP, RGB, rotation, brightness, and touch controller support can eliminate otherwise attractive SoCs.
Product workload HMI, gateway, camera, AI, signage, and handheld products stress different SoC blocks.
Interface list Ethernet, CAN, RS485, USB, camera, audio, storage, and GPIO exposure depend on both SoC and board design.
Lifecycle target A consumer multimedia SoC may not be the right fit for a 7-year industrial product.
